My collegiate goal is to complete a degree and participate in a softball program while in college. Academically I strive to maintain good grades in high school. I am taking AP or advanced classes in high school and am in the Blue Ridge Governor's school through my high school. My plans are to take dual enrollment classes starting my junior year to start obtaining college credits. Through my years of travel ball I have learned the importance of being a team player, doing what is needed to help my team be the best it can be. I am a left-handed pitcher with three primary pitches: fastball, change up and drop curve. I have been working on the screwball pitch. My fastball has been clocked by college coaches at 56-57 mph and my change up is anywhere from 15-20 mph slower. I have been working to vary my speed on all pitches. I hit left-handed so I can slap, hit and bunt (be a triple threat from the left side). I have a skills video on YouTube. You can google "Megan Shifflett 2016" to see the video.
