Trista Gassner '26 Recruiting Profile

I am a multi-sport athlete who loves the intensity and challenge of competing in sports.  Although I play two sports; softball and volleyball, my passion is with softball. I've been playing travel softball since I was six and have been playing travel volleyball since I was eleven. In softball my coaches have put me all over the field these past few years. I have played every position on the field at some point in my career, even though I do not catch or pitch anymore. I am mainly a middle infielder, but also play 3rd base and outfield. My coaches have seen me as a leader and someone who they can trust in many different situations. Offensively I am the leadoff hitter for both my high school(varsity) and travel teams with the ability to slap and swing away from the left side. 

Not only do I have athletic ability but I also have academic ability. This past year as a freshman I had cumulative GPA of 3.95 while managing to play high school and travel sports. I see myself as a hard worker always putting in the time to become a better student in some way shape or form. In college my main goal is to get my degree in the occupation I choose along with playing softball.
