Personal Statement

Playing collegiate women's basketball has been my dream since I was in the 6th grade, its been something that I have always strived for and dreamed of. I think I would be a good candidate for your team because unlike many who just go through the motions, I have a serious passion for the game of basketball, and I will do whatever it takes to play at the collegiate level. I think what makes me stand out from other recruits in character is I have perseverance and determination, I have learned to have this through certain areas of my life, and I have applied it not only to sports but my life in general. Also I do not just focus on myself, I focus on whats best for the team, and my teammates around me, I try not to put all my attention on myself but rather my teammates and the game itself, knowing that when I do this, I will play my best game. What makes me stand out from other recruits as an athlete is that I am very universal in the positions on the court, though my main positions are small forward and shooting guard, I am able to play all five positions at any time, and I know the positions very well. I have played everywhere from point guard at my high school team, to center at my club team, and the positions in between. Also I am the captain of my high school team, and have lettered all years I have played so far going into my junior year. What makes me stand out academically is that I have had very good grades since freshmen year, I have been in the honors program every year of high school so far, including my upcoming junior year. I strive for straight A's, though I usually finish with A's and a couple of B's, and I have never finished a year with a C in the grade book. I have gotten a 4.0 GPA every year, but due to the honors program it is often weighted. I believe that I have what it takes to play college basketball and fulfill my dream, and I would love to work with you to make that happen. Thank you. ~Savana Kascak
