Lauren Richards '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Lauren Richards. I played for Lake Forest High School as a starting sophomore guard, and I am in the class of 2025. I consider myself a true athlete, having played basketball since 4th grade, danced for 10 years, and played soccer for 7 years. However, basketball is my true passion as it requires continuous personal growth and commitment as well as becoming a leader on the court. 

Over the past year, I have put significant effort into working on both my offensive and defensive skills. As a result, I played the role of defending the opposing team's leading scorer. Being the strongest defender on my team was my biggest accomplishment over this past high school season. Additionally, I worked on intense ball handling, reading the court, fast gameplay, and quick accurate passing, thus improving my point guard skills.  My shooting game has continually improved over the season with strength at the three-point line as well as driving to the hoop.  Recently, I was named captain for the 2023-2024 varsity season.

As I think about my future, my ultimate goal is to play basketball in college, and attend an academically challenging school. In addition to enjoying the game, I want to be a part of a team that encourages each other to be their very best selves.
