Kate McAleer '22 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing organized basketball since the third grade. Currently, in addition to basketball, I run cross country, track and play soccer. While I enjoy these other sports, basketball is my passion and I would love to be able to earn a spot on a team at the collegiate level. 

I am a leader on the court, with a great understanding of the strategies involved in the game. I believe that everyone on the team has a role to play both on and off the court. While I have the ability to contribute in many ways( skillful ball handling, threat from the outside, ability to take it to the hole, etc.), I am most proud of my aggressive defensive abilities in both M2M and zone.   I believe communication is one of the keys to success, routinely and consistently talking to my teammates on and off the court. I have also been told by many of my coaches that one of the other top qualities that continues to impact me as a player is my strong willingness to be coachable. 

My education is important to me and I work hard to be at the top of my class. Outside of school, I often volunteer at basketball camps for youth players.
