Personal Statement
I can't even remember a time when I didn't play softball. It is my passion and has taught me lessons on and off the field. I had always wanted to play softball in college, then I went to the College Softball World Series and knew I HAD to play softball in college. I have learned and grown through all levels of softball from t-ball to travel to high school. These experiences have been some of the best of my life and I have met some of my best friends and mentors. This past summer, I was able to pitch for the save in both high school regional games and send my team to the Iowa State championships. This past year as a Varsity Freshman, I was awarded 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-Region, 3rd Team All-State and the Golden Glove as a first basemen in class 5A. It is my goal to continue to pursue this high level in both my play on the field and in the classroom, where I have consistently focused on grades and responsibilities. It has always been my goal to make any team I am on better through my play on the field, support of others, character and hard work. These are the skills I strive to pass on to the young girls that come to me for hitting and pitching lessons. I have also played volleyball for the past 5 years and this year I got the opportunity to coach a volleyball team of 13 year olds. These experiences have made me an even better player and teammate.
