Personal Statement
I have many great qualities and characteristics that could benefit many programs. I am a hard working student athlete. Sports have always been very important to me ; however, my academics comes first. All while participating in sports, I have maintained the honor roll and a 3.5 GPA throughout my high school career. I am currently in the top ten of my class. I believe my perseverance is something that makes me different from other recruits. There have been many obstacles and life changing challenges that I have had to face. One of those being losing my mother to cancer my first year of high school. I had to take on the task of caring for my younger brother and sister all while managing sports, school, and my own personal issues. My favorite motto is "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do." In athletics, I am the leading scorer on my basketball team and co-captain. My leadership skills match my work ethic. My main goal is to attend a college/university to achieve my dream of playing on the collegiate level.
