Personal Statement

Hello my name is Artemis Tsouros and I play for St. John's Prep located in Astoria, New York. I also play in the GOYA Greek League for St. Demetrios Astoria and play on The Spartans AAU Team. I love playing basketball because of the opportunities granted, the friendships made, the hard effort and passion that associates with the game, and overall because of the game itself and the many aspects it has taught me throughout the years playing. My main position is a Point Guard because I truly love being able to control the game and be the leader of my team by directing players on where they should be in order to make great plays. Furthermore, I have a low dribble that allows me to get past defenders as I drive in and speed down the court, always looking for open players as well. My second position is a Shooting Guard which I also love as well. I am able to make my moves and get a quick jumper or three to defeat my defender. Most importantly, I believe communication is key because it is the only way to empower your teammates and empower your team overall in a healthy and proper way. I also have a great sense of sportsmanship and always help others on the opposing team if I have fouled them by always picking them up. Aside from basketball, my academic side is also very advanced and maintained throughout each year as I uphold a 98-99 average each semester. I hope to play college basketball one day and keep up the good work.

It allows for stronger bonds and lots of effort to be put in throughout the various tournaments played.

  • The New York University Elite Camp I attended was by far my favorite Elite Camp of the year. The camp started from 9a.m. to 12p.m. and grades 9-12 were welcome as well. I absolutely loved the way this camp was programmed, and the coaches, players, and even the campus was so enjoyable and entertaining. It was a challenging camp and it was one of the best opportunities I've ever taken. I am definitely going to be attending the next camp next year!

  • The Fairleigh Dickinson University Elite Camp, FDU Elite Camp, was an eventful, entertaining, enthusiastic, and challenging camp that started from 10a.m. to 3p.m. and for grades 9-12. I was also able to meet the Women's Basketball team and the bond, effort, and energy that all of the women put into the sport. I would definitely attend the Queens College Camp next year!
  • Camp/Event
  • Columbia Univeristy Elite Camp II
  • 6/27/23 to 6/27/23
  • This Elite Camp truly was one of the best Elite camps I've attended. It was extremely welcoming, challenging, and especially allowed us athletes to meet the coaches, meet new people, and even look at Columbia University's campus after the camp finished. It was from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for grades 9-12. It was one of the best experiences and I will definitely attend the next one next year!
