Personal Statement
I am from a very small town, where we have 6 elementary schools and 1 main High School. My 5th grade year I tried out for my elementary school team, after playing Junior Pro since I was 8. However, my main sport was softball at the time, so basketball wasn't all that important. I did not make the team mainly because I could not shoot a left handed layup with my left hand, but I did become a manager. Being a manager I was allowed to practice with rest of team, and I exceeded in doing so. Being determined to do what was asked of me is when I fell in love with the game. Learning how to work for something and succeeding is something I learned to become familiar with. Now as I am in High School I have taken pride into improving my game of basketball as far as I can. One of my goals to achieve is to play at the next level. I have taken on many roles, such as, being a leader. Being apart of team, you have self discipline and self determination, along with drive from your teammates. That's where you become unstoppable. Playing college basketball will improve independence and determination to fulfill whatever task you set out to do. Basketball can teach you many lessons and skills that will help you further in life, and that's why I choose to try continue with my career.
