Personal Statement
My name is Melissa Collier, I am a 2008 graduate from Woodbridge, Virginia. I maintain a 3.8 GPA and hold the same passion for excellence in not only my academics but also in basketball. The first time I touched a basketball, I fell in love with the sport. Since then I have utilized and improved my skills ten-fold. I am always willing to learn and improve whether it be in the classroom or on the court. I am interested in studying the fields of Graphic Design, Economics, and Computer Science. Again, I constantly strive to be the best I can be and I want to attend a college that will push me to excel above and beyond the average student athlete. Coming into my sophomore year of college, I hope to further my basketball career and develop my game even more. Playing for Stevens Institute of Technology my freshman year gave me the confidence and experience that I believe are necessary to do well in college sports. This year I have become more disciplined and stronger not only mentally, but physically as well. I am ecstatic to see where basketball can take me in the future.
