Personal Statement

I am currently a rising Senior at Monacan High School (Chesterfield, Virginia) where I am in the Dual Enrollment Program with Brightpoint Community College.  I have a 4.12 GPA and I am enrolled in honors and AP courses.  I have been playing basketball since I was four years old with a few recreation leagues and started playing AAU basketball in the 3rd Grade with CapCity Ballerz, where I have played for 9 seasons.  I led my middle school team to the semi-finals playoffs in my 8th grade year.  I was able to play JV for Monacan High School my 8th grade year and we went 12-1 that season.   As a freshman, I started Varsity and our team were Class 4 Region 4B Runners Up.   I was named team captain in my sophomore year, a title that I cherish. During my high school basketball career, I was fortunate enough to earn First Team All-state (junior year); First Team All-Region honors (Class 4 Region 4B) (Sophomore/Junior year); All Metro third team Sophomore Year and second team Junior Year, the Chesterfield County Superintendents All County Team and the Boo Williams Nike Invitational All-Tournament Team. I was invited to participate in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Academy at the end of July in Memphis, Tennessee.

In my role as team captain, I learned a great deal about the true concept of leadership and am very excited to train and play AAU this summer so that next

year, my team and I will win a State Championship. I am committed to my academics as well as the sport of basketball.  I am a leader on and off the court.  I plan to attend a 4-year college and major in Pre-law.
