Personal Statement

I have been playing golf ever since I had the physical ability to swing a club. I started playing competitively my 6th grade year and have never regretted it. I started playing up on my high school girl’s varsity golf team in 8th grade and all three years of being on this team, I have qualified for regionals. I have been the lowest scorer for the past 2 years and play year round.

The moment I walked up to my first practice as a shy, little 8th grader I felt at home. My coach and my team mates taught me that it wasn’t always about who has to lowest scores or who wins or loses, it’s about making this experience one you will never forget and focus on growing as a player and a student. Being on this team has been the best part of my high school career so far because I have learned the lessons of teamwork, leadership, confidence, commitment, and respect which I will carry all through my life and at the collegiate level.

I am a team player and also a good student. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me both academically and athletically so it will help me grow as a player and a student. I want to be apart of a program that truly values the educational aspects as much as the athletic aspects of being a student- athlete. I know that I have the stamina, the endurance, and the confidence to take on any challenge that lies ahead of me, especially being on a collegiate level team. I know that I have what it takes to be apart of your team.

I finished with an 80. It was a very cold day. My drives were a little off, slightly going right and losing distance. I had great '100 yards and in' and close game. Also 2 birdies and were on the green in regulation every par three and majority of the time.

9 Hole tournament. Tied for 4th place with a 38. I had a birdie to start off the day, a chip in for par of hole #2 along with 4 other pars with 4 bogeys. I didn't have any three putts, but I still came short of the green twice. My close game is what kept me low.

Finished with an 82 the first day and a 94 the second day. I finished in the top 15 out of about 50 girls. I had a great first round, the weather was great and I really struck the ball well. Missed some 5-7 foot putts and didn't three putt which kept my score low. The second day I teed off around 10:40am and didn't finish until around 6:30pm. Very long day and didn't strike through the ball like I should have. I was short of greens about 40% of the time and let the heat get the best of me. Over all pretty well but the second day really had a toll on me. I am now working hard on conditioning in the heat.

I had a rough start. Started with a par and then followed with a double bogey because I had an anxiety attack half way through. Messed with me a little bit but I finished strong with a 44 and qualified to All A State in Somerset.

Had a very rough day. In order to get on base, you have to have a back ground check. For some reason my Dad was not allowed on Fort Knox campus and it really messed with me mentally because he has never missed a tournament. I ended up shooting a 95. The worst I have had in a very long while.
