Hello, my name is Annie Eck and I love golf. I’ve been playing since I was 14 and love to get out and play as much as possible.
I am a determined player that never gives up and I won’t take no for an answer. I am a diligent worker on and off the course and a good teammate. This past year, I became a team captain for my high school varsity team. On top of this, I’m a positive thinker coming into each match with a good attitude and readiness for victory. This year, I am working towards being a confident leader both on the team and in my academics. I believe I can lead my team to a victorious season.
As a student, I am a hard worker, balancing school life and practice time, making sure I meet with teachers and coaches when I need help and always challenging myself.
On the course, I’ve been working towards becoming a better player, working with a coach this winter on my swing and how to improve my game and mindset. Offseason, I spent plenty of time drilling and nailing down the tiny improvements to my swing to better prepare for the summer season.
Lastly, the reason I love golf is because it is such a complex sport with so much hidden meaning to it. It gives me plenty of time outdoors and time away from the stresses of life. When I’m playing, I can focus all my energies on getting that small ball into the hole. Sounds simple, but I will always strive for perfection! It’s taught me patience and perseverance. It’s also taught me how to keep my cool when its not going my way. Each hole is a fresh start. I can’t wait to play as much as I can moving forward!!
