Personal Statement

I began my golf career at the age of 7 when my parents enrolled me in The First Tee, and I have been playing consistently ever since. As well, I have played multiple seasons of PJA Junior League and currently play on my high school’s varsity golf team.  Throughout my years of golfing, I have learned many valuable skills, not just relating the game, but also life skills. Golf has taught me how important integrity and honesty are, how to respect others, myself and my surroundings and how to think positively even when situations might not be ideal. These skills aren't only crucial in the game of golf, but also throughout the various extracurriculars I am involved in. I’ve been involved in school leadership since 5th grade, and am currently serving as Student Body ASB Secretary as well as being in Tahoma’s advanced leadership class. I've experienced many team environments which has helped me understand that being a leader is not only about taking charge, but also about giving others a chance to have their moment in the spotlight.

I believe I am a strong candidate due to my golf experience, work ethic, leadership capabilities, and above average academics. As well, I am always a team player and understand the level of responsibility it takes to play college golf. Although I am unsure about what I want to study, my goal is to earn a bachelor’s degree. In addition, one of my main goals is to build relationships that can last beyond college. Thank you for your consideration and time.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
