My name is Laura, I started playing hockey when I was 6 years old, and goalie when I was 10. After I moved to a small school there was never a youth team for me to play on, so I was waived out to different schools every year that didn’t have goalies. I played on teams that lost most games and would have the pressure on me to win the game, and it continued my freshman and sophomore year when I started playing varsity. I open enrolled to a different school for my junior season and was not able to have any part in the varsity team because of transfer rules.
I play for Andover and will be starting my senior season this fall. I’m undecided on what I want to major in college, and am thinking about careers in business. I’ve wanted to play college hockey since I was 12 years old and want to play to the highest level.
I have always given my all when I step onto the ice whether it’s a practice or game. Being on new teams constantly has made me a better player and different from everyone because of my personality, ability, maturity, and responsibility I have whether good or bad teams. I believe I would be a strong leader on any college team.
