I am a Tier 1 hockey player with the Syracuse Nationals U17/U19 team as a center wearing #9. I was also chosen "Athlete of the Week" by WSYR TV, All-League First team for Section III. My high school varsity hockey team won the NYSPHAA 2017 State Championships. I had 2 assists and 1 goal in the effort.
Along with AAA and high school hockey, I play varsity lacrosse at midfield/attack for my high school. Our high school team won the 2017 NYSPHAA State championship in Cortland. My achievements include 2017 and 2016 Academic All-American. 2017, 2016 and 2015 league champions, sectional champions, regional champions, NYSPHSAA Final Four. Since 2010, I have played lacrosse (all positions) for the Outlaw Ladies Lacrosse Club and have attended a number of high level lacrosse tournaments including the Capital Cup, Star Spangled, and the 2015 Empire State Cup. I have also played varsity soccer for my high school as a goalie, and in 2014 I was selected OHSL Liberty League First team.
I have been challenging myself my senior years taking all AP coursework. I scored very well on my recent college entrance exams. I received a score of 35 on my ACTs.
I have recently received the following academic awards:
AP Scholar Award (October 2016);
National Merit Scholarship Program Letter of Commendation (June 2016);
Clarkson University High School Junior Leadership Award (April 15, 2016);
Crouse Hospital Volunteer Services CHOICES Program (2016-17);
Hobart and William Smith Colleges Finger Lakes Scholar (November 2016)
I am interested in a college that will offer me not only a great opportunity to play hockey, but an excellent learning environment with a high degree of rigor and hands on learning opportunities. I am interested in pursuing science, engineering and mathematics. I am looking for a college that has innovative programs which involve employment in my chosen field of study, collaborative learning and use of real work projects as well as immersion experiences.
Overall, I plan to continue working just as hard – if not harder – in my future schooling career and wish to continue challenging myself in any and all ways that I can. I never want to settle for less than my best and I am willing to work harder than anyone else to achieve my goals. I hope to continue to play the sport I love in college and get a well-rounded education to further my knowledge to help put me on the path of success.
