As holding midfielder, I am a playmaker and a precision passer. In this position, I constantly worry about transitioning back to cover my defensive responsibilities. I also know that my job is to take possession and advance the ball to offense, looking to feed my teammates in the most strategic way possible. Here is a link to news coverage and a perfect example of my playmaking ability ["Isabella Arroyo with a dime!" ]. As a holding midfielder, I am the most prolific assists feeder on both my high school and club teams.
While I am a skilled ball handler, unlike others who may attempt to dribble through packs of defenders, I prefer team play based on constant movement of the ball, lots of quick passes, and making split-second plays to keep the opponent off guard. Rather than showboat, I never hesitate to make an immediate pass that moves the ball into a better scoring position.
My club team, Syracuse Development Academy (SDA), has had a winning record and last year was invited to join the Girls Academy for this season. My SDA coach, Shannon Colton, can be reached at [email protected] or (315) 882-1086. I have played for Coach Shannon for four years and he knows my soccer well. My high school varsity coach, who was selected as New York State Girls Soccer Coach of the Year last year, on the heels of our Sectional Championship appearance, Kyle Smith, also knows my play very well. Coach Kyle can be reached at [email protected] or (315) 345-3691. Please see the following highlights of me playing: Ella Arroyo highlights.
