Ella Virkler '20 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Ella. I have been playing lacrosse since I was in 3rd grade. One interesting thing about me is that, as a 12 year old, I was on the women's national lacrosse team of Singapore. There I played against athletes that had played lacrosse at the D1 level in college. While I played in the games for the women's team, I was very lucky to get to be the practice goalie for the mens national lacrosse team. On the team there were 3 former Duke lacrosse players, and other players from many different colleges. It was an amazing experience, and it taught me how to control my nerves. I was able to earn the respect of the men on the team, and to be able to keep my composure when a 200 pound mass of pure muscle was barreling towards me.
