Personal Statement
During my High School career, I've come to learn that our team has always been seen as one of the most decorated and overall consistent in our conference. Even though this is true, I the year I came into the program we dropped to Third place overall in the State. This led up to my sophomore year where I dropped a lot of time and I truly applied myself to "the Process" as my team and coaches call it. In the end we won our conference but placed second in the State meet. This defeat was heartbreaking at first, seeing as we had only lost by one point, but it allowed me to learn from my mistakes and try to better myself and my team next year.
This year, I found my passion for the sport. When I wasn't studying for school, I was either running or researching nearby runners or competitors I would be racing soon. We came in second that year in the state after three of out top runners graduated. This Cross Country year showed me how hard work pays off and that winning isn't all that matters. It's the team and passion for the sport that comes first. I feel like my team has made me into a better runner and a better person and I am excited to continue pursuing my passion.
