My name is Callie Dammann and I am currently in my 4th year of playing box lacrosse. My local Lacrosse Association offered “Box on the Grass” during the COVID pandemic and I decided to give lacrosse a try. I was lucky to be able to learn the skills of the sport that summer and that gave me to confidence to begin playing with and against 14&15 year old boys the next season. I play for my home lacrosse team, which is co-ed, and I was only one of 2 girls on my team this 2023 season. I also play for the Team Saskatchewan U17 Female Box Lacrosse Team and attended the Canadian Box Lacrosse Nationals in August 2023 with that team.
For the past 3 years I have also played on my hometown Male Field Lacrosse Team (U17). There is minimal opportunity in Saskatchewan for Women’s Field Lacrosse but I was fortunate to attend a camp at ASU in February of 2023 while in Phoenix to attend the USBOXLA Winter National Tournament. I enjoyed being able to use my speed and agility in a new way while learning new techniques and skills. I attend every local Female Lacrosse opportunity offered in my area.
I am a positive, easy-going teammate who encourages and cheers for her entire team regardless of the game’s outcome. I am competitive, coachable and eager to learn new skills and systems and I have a team-first attitude.
I was a competitive gymnast for 8 years and I still coach younger gymnasts at my club. I also enjoy playing basketball at my high school. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, boating and going to the gym. I also give back to my local association by helping with Try Lacrosse nights and development camps for the younger athletes.
I am excited about lacrosse opportunities for my future.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
