Valerie Backer '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Valerie Backer. I am Class of 2024 from Arlington High School in Arlington, TN. I have only played lacrosse for 1 year starting out in my junior year of high school (2023) and ended the season as a primary starter on my team. I started as defense/midfield primarily on my HS varsity team. After the 2022-2023 season ended, I joined a summer Club/Travel team, MemphisLax (2023). I also took private lessons over the summer with a college lacrosse student athlete who was my assistant coach for my Blue Team for MemphisLax. I am very dedicated to my academics. For me and my family, academics are a no. 1 priority along with extracurricular activities and volunteer work. I am known to be a dedicated, hardworking, and very coachable player in any sports that I play. I hustle on the field and work hard 24/7. I strive to be a leader and motivator to myself, teammates, and coaches in practice and games. Lacrosse and other sports have shaped me into the person I am today. I plan on continuing my academic and athletic career in college.
