Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Colleen Kilgallon and I am a sophomore at Forest Park High School in Woodbridge, Virginia. I play both lacrosse and field hockey at Forest Park High School, and I also play lacrosse for my club team, SuperNoVA Select (Blue). I am a hard working student athlete who is driven to be the absolute best in everything that I set my sights on. During my freshman year at Forest Park I made the Varsity Lacrosse Team, started every game for our team which made it to the Virginia Class 6A State Semi-Finals, was selected for Second Team All Conference, and maintained a 3.78 GPA while taking several Pre-AP courses. My goal for my sophomore year is to build on both these team and individual accomplishments.
Lacrosse has been my favorite sport since I began playing seven years ago. I take pride in giving 100% effort every time I step on the field, being a student of the game who is always looking to learn new techniques, and most importantly being a total team player. I can play both midfield and attack and believe that the strongest parts of my game include: taking the draw, moving the ball downfield in transition, playing solid team defense, and understanding how to create scoring opportunities for myself and my teammates.
I have a strong desire to continue to play lacrosse in college, and remain connected with the game later in life by coaching youth lacrosse. I am looking for a college where I can achieve my goals of having both a great academic and athletic experience. While I have not decided on a major yet, I am interested in the following majors: Secondary Education, Intelligence and Homeland Security, and Communications.
In my free time I enjoy hanging out at the pool with my friends and running with my dog Charlie.
Thank you for your consideration and for taking the time to review my profile.
