I’m excited to be a part of a tight-knit, supportive, and competitive crew team in college! I’ve been rowing since the spring season of my sophomore year and moved from the Novice to Varsity boats when I came back in the fall. I’m a Starboard rower, although I’m eager to learn to scull (my team has only one double, and I haven’t had the chance to row in it yet). Since starting crew, I have worked my 2k down from well over 9 minutes to 8:37.5 and will continue to work on it over the summer.
My primary goal in college is my education, and I am looking for a college where I can push myself academically. I plan to major in English or Comparative Literature, with a minor or potential double major in Communications or Film and Media Studies, and I believe that my rigorous course load at Emma has prepared me for college academics. I’m excited to focus my advanced classes in the humanities during my senior year, delving further into my interests in college.
I work hard in my extracurriculars outside of rowing, as an editor and writer for both my school’s newspaper and literary magazine, a wellness advocate, a humanities tutor, and a member of various other groups and clubs. I am passionate about the humanities, particularly literature, and working with and helping others.
