I’m Cecilia and I’m a junior at TC Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia. I began rowing in the eighth grade and I didn't expect it to become such a huge part of my life. I’m a very responsible student and rower and do my best to find a balance between the two. I’ve participated in the Head of the Hooch in 2015 in the lightweight category as well as Stotesbury cup and SRAA Nationals in 2016 in the Junior 8 category. I can row both starboard and port and I can scull as well. I have a 4.0 GPA and my favorite subjects in school are Psychology, Chemistry, U.S History, and English.
As a rower, I do my best to leave absolutely everything on the water every practice and try to motivate my teammates to do the same, regardless of the results. I learn from every experience and try to use them to better myself as both a student and rower. My goals for rowing are to continue improving my skills and technique as well as getting stronger and improving my scores. I would like to go to a medium to small sized school with an enthusiastic atmosphere that will make it easier for me to balance classes and rowing; however, I am open to all sorts of schools and class sizes. I’m hoping to find a school that can offer me a major in either Psychology, Chemistry, or Political Science. Rowing is a huge part of my life and has led me to come out of my shell. It is a enormous part of who I am and it is a passion that I don't plan on ever letting go.
