My name is Makenna Hanson and I am sophomore at Wasilla High School. I started playing recreational soccer when I was five and moved to year round competitive soccer when I was seven. In the last eight years of playing competitive soccer, I have learned a lot about myself and the soccer player that I strive to be. I am driven on and off the field to put in the extra work to better myself everyday. I've played at the state level on the Alaska ADP/ODP soccer team for the last years. That opportunity allowed me to play on an England and Portugal Tour. During my freshman season, I was a varsity starter and made the 1st Team Girls All Conference. I primarily play striker for my competitive team, winger for my ODP team and offensive middle field and striker for my high school team. I believe I would be a great player to add to a roster in college because I'm coachable, I have great ball control, I have good speed on and off the ball and I'm a team player. Academics are very important to me. I have been able to maintain a 3.94 GPA all while playing year round competitive soccer and taking higher level classes. I plan on getting a bachelor's degree in physical therapy to help athletes regain strength and help them reach their full potential. When I step on the pitch, I make sure to work my hardest so I can continue to make my short-term and long-term goals in soccer a reality.
