Hi, I’m Allison Devine and I’m a junior at Wasilla High School in Wasilla, Alaska. My high school volleyball team just won our first 4A state championship this year, which has been a goal of mine for many years now. I’ve played a handful of sports in my life, but volleyball is by far the best. I’ve been playing since I was in 5th grade and have loved it from the start. When I was in middle school I made it my goal to make varsity my freshman year which I ended up achieving. To do this I started playing club when I was in 7th grade and started working out with a strength and agility trainer when I was in 8th grade. I could not have achieved any of these goals without the amazing coaches I‘ve had.
Volleyball (and all the sports I’ve played) has helped me become the person I am. It has taught me how to be a leader, how to work hard, how to stay positive and uplifting even when it’s not easy, and how to give myself to others. I got voted team captain for my 17 National team and my junior school season by my teammates.
I have seven siblings, all who are/were very involved in sports. Five of my six older siblings have played college sports. My oldest brother went D1 for basketball, my oldest sister and other brother went D2 for basketball, and then 2 of my other brothers went NAIA for basketball and football. My whole family including my parents have inspired me to work hard and be competitive.
In the future I am hoping to play for a competitive college team. I want my teammates to be positive and supportive while also being able to keep eachother accountable and pushing eachother to be the best they can be. I don’t have much of a preference on what level I’d play for, so please reach out if I seem like a good fit for your program and haven’t found you yet.
