Hi my name is Kaiya Luevano and I am a 17 year old Junior at Carlsbad High School. I have been playing soccer as long as I can remember and joined my first team at five years old. My love of the game has always driven me to improve and I have always dreamed of playing soccer in college. I feel that my athleticism, as well as my determination to be the best that I can be, make me stand out as an excellent candidate to play on a high level collegiate team.
On the field, my assets include my intensity of play, my read of the field, my execution of game day strategies and my ability to learn quickly through effective coaching. I have always been one of the fastest on the team, as well as one of the strongest physically. I am not afraid to use my body and skills to speed past players when pressing forward or defend 1:1 when falling back. My coaches have always told me that I am one of the most coachable players because I listen to instruction and do my best to modify my play to the best needs of my team on any given game day.
Off the field, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and friends. Whether it’s hiking, jogging, camping, or beach going, I am always ready for a new adventure. I love to travel and learn new things about different cultures and environments. I am very organized and have great time managements skills.
In the classroom, I currently have a 3.94 GPA and push myself to excel in both AP and honors classes. Not only do I work hard to maintain high level grades, but I enjoy being a part of the social side of high school. I love attending football, basketball, soccer and lacrosse games as well as all the high school dances. I aspire to enter college in the Biological Medical Sciences field with an ultimate career goal of becoming a Physicians Assistant in the Orthopedic Medical field.
I believe that both academically and athletically I would be a strong asset to a college soccer team. I want to be one of the hardest working players that you have ever met. I try to lead by example and encourage others to be the best that they can be. Even through struggles and defeat, I believe that there is an opportunity for growth. I would be honored to represent a college with pride, integrity and passion.
