My name is Clea Jimenez Donovan. I play for for the De Anza Force ECNL 06G team. I am a midfielder/defender. I began playing soccer when I was five. My brother’s team was missing players, and his coach asked me to fill in. My brother switched to water polo (his senior year he became one of the leading goal scorers in the nation), and is now playing D1 water polo at Loyola Marymount university. I stuck with soccer, playing mostly with boys at the recreational level until I began club soccer in 2017. Since 2017, I have worked tirelessly to grow as a player and as a teammate. I am coachable, physically imposing (5'10") and aggressive, relentless in my desire to grow on the pitch, mentally tough, resilient, dedicated, and exceedingly hardworking. My goal is not just to make a college soccer roster but also to be an indispensable player and teammate at the highest college level.
Here are three statements about me that speak to my depth of character as a player and a person:
“In the three years that I coached Clea at Marin FC, she became one of the most indispensable players on our team and one of our captains. Clea’s hunger to compete was unparalleled. I have been coaching soccer for almost 17 years (including players who went on to play Division 1 soccer), and I haven’t met another player who has the same desire, commitment, and appetite to improve as Clea. She is a very special young player and person. Clea will make an incredible mark on the soccer program she joins as a collegiate athlete. Clea has my highest possible recommendation.” Isaiah Schwerin - Head Coach, Marin FC G08 Blue (ECNL)
“Clea and I started working together three years ago, and she’s been an absolute pleasure to train. She provided a detailed list that included her desired areas of improvement and a deadline to become proficient in it. Since then, Clea has made considerable strides. That is a testament to her mentality towards training and her willingness to work. She’s analytical, determined, focused, punctual, a hard worker, and is very coachable. Clea has a huge upside and will continue developing into a player that can compete at the D1 level.” Tristan Bowen - Former Professional Soccer Player, Varsity Men’s Coach at San Domenico School, and Skills Development Trainer
“Clea is a model student athlete and captain...Clea’s insane work rate, do whatever it takes attitude and technical abilities are what made her our offensive player of the year and a second team all league nomination" (after being named offensive MVP and All-League selection, one of three sophomores in the county named to the second team). Nichole Caiocca - Head Varsity Coach, San Rafael High School
