Hi, my name is Taylor Geiger and I attend high school at Pacific Ridge School in Carlsbad, California. I’ve been playing soccer since I was five and have been with the same competitive club team for the last 9 years.
My club’s name is City SC San Diego (the club was previously called LA Galaxy and before that it was called Carlsbad United). I have also been on my high school varsity team the last two years playing most recently in the number nine position.
It was a great season this year (2023-2024) with my HS team progressing to the second round of CIF. I was happy to help my team by securing 15 goals and 5 assists this year. There is nothing more fun than scoring.
I was also recently selected from 2000 players as 1 of 18 on an international DPL all-stars squad that played three international friendlies in England in November of 2023. It was an amazing experience and was so much fun. And we won two of the three games and tied the other. The games were against West Brom Albion, Reading FC and Chelsea. We won 6-2 against Chelsea at their training facility as our last game in November.
I’m really excited for my future in college and would love to study business with an emphasis on sales and marketing and have the opportunity to play college soccer. I’m always looking for ways to grow and improve and I’m always up for a challenge.
In addition to soccer, I also play lacrosse on my high school’s varsity team. I play midi on my high school team. It’s a great cross training sport with soccer and I really enjoy being part of the team and bonding with the girls on my high school lacrosse team.
At Pacific Ridge, I’ve completed several trimesters of service learning helping animals at the local shelter and I‘m in Honors Spanish right now. I became fully fluent in Spanish attending a dual language academy school before I began at Pacific Ridge. I feel being bilingual is a true advantage in today’s competitive work environment and it has opened the door for me to think about the world in new and interesting ways.
I’ve also been fortunate to travel to Spain and Mexico where I had the opportunity to really put my Spanish skills to the test. I feel so thankful for these experiences to see other parts of the world.
