Lizzie Bendixen '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello coaches! My name is Lizzie Bendixen. I’m a 5’8 goalkeeper with a 3.2 GPA and a love for throwing myself in front of fast-moving objects. 

After finishing my senior year at Highlands Ranch High School with a record-breaking season (named captain and starting GK, I led my team to the first playoff program appearance in 13 years with a shutout and advanced to the first sweet sixteen program appearance in 23 years, was awarded CHSSA Continental League 1st Team, and was presented with the HRHS Outstanding Athletics Award), I’ve decided to take a gap year to continue perfecting my craft in Europe. 

I’ll spend the 2024–25 season attending the Rome City Institute in Rome, Italy, playing soccer full-time. As part of their gap year program, I plan to continue focusing on my technique and other skills, training with some of the best goalkeeper coaches in the country. While attending RCI, I will have the opportunity to not only play with high-level players that play in the Italian football pyramid, but I’ll also have the opportunity to sign semi-professionally and play along with them. 

Pursuing higher education remains a core value, and I’ve taken 4 AP classes (AP Psychology-4, AP Language Composition-3, AP Environmental Science-4, and AP Government-5), and I am interested in studying kinesiology, psychology, criminology, or business.  I will be taking a few classes in Italy and look forward to playing soccer at a higher level.

If I could describe my best attributes to my team, it would be my field presence, effort level, and energy. This sport is the love of my life, and I want to share that love with my teammates as much as possible.

This year, I plan to put my head down and work. Next year, I plan to be your newest recruit.
