My name is Gianna Cottone and I graduate in 2026. The words that can best describe me are committed leader, hard-working, smart, team player and versatile.
I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old! I have grown to love the sport and every aspect that comes with it. At first, I played only forward but I studied film, worked with my coaches and learned center-back, wing, center mid-field, and any forward position. I play basketball and soccer to a high level including playing varsity as an 8th grader. Sports are one of the things I value most in my life because of the challenges and teammates. But, my first priority is academics. I have always put school first and will continue along that path.
My goal in the future is to start my own business. In college, I want to study science and business while playing the sport I love! I am a great teammate because I will always help my team. I will assist where an assist is needed. I will cheer on and lift up my teammates who might be down due to a bad play. After every practice, I thank all of my coaches and help clean up. I may change position to help my team win.
I am very different from other athletes because I never feel satisfied and I love the intellectual aspect of a match. If I had a bad practice, I will ask questions of my coach to see what I can do to improve, then, I will go home and practice, workout, or go over film. I will do whatever it takes to succeed the right way.
