The highlight of my soccer career that changed my perspective on motivation and encouragement occurred on April 16th, 2019. For two years I had dreamed to beat the most goals scored in a season for my high school girl's varsity soccer team. The number of goals to beat was 24. Everyone in my school was counting with me, game by game. In our last region game to determine our spot in the playoffs, I scored my 25th goal to beat the record and win the game as a freshman. I felt a feeling like never before, the weight of all the stress and overthinking fell off my shoulders within a second. Ever since then I have set goals for myself, to feel achieved and unstoppable. I started to do 100 push-ups, sit-ups, and squats in January, but unfortunately had to put it on pause due to a severe ankle sprain in May. I try to push myself every single day by drinking half a gallon of water. I go for jogs on days I do not have practice or games. I keep my grades up to maintain a 4.0 GPA and to stay put in the top 5% of my graduating class. Setting goals for yourself helps you become a healthy, independent person. My biggest goal currently is to become recruited to play soccer in college at a higher level. I hope to achieve it within the next year as I start my final year of high school.
