My name is Macy Scott. I am proud to be from Marshall County out of Western Kentucky, and I play club for a team out of Evansville, Indiana: Indiana Fire South ECNL. I am currently a junior who will graduate in 2025. Here is a small look at who I am and what I strive for as a person and as a player:
Who am I? On a social level, I would best describe myself as a quiet observer with relatively high empathy; it's easy for me to put myself in another person's shoes and connect with them on an emotional level. This is the primary cause of why good sportsmanship is so important to me as a player; the least we can do is handle one another with respect, and it shouldn't matter whether they're on the same team or not. I also value the strong desire of the constant willingness to work hard to improve one's self in their strengths and work on their weaknesses. Whether it comes to being on or off the pitch, it's very important to me that I put as much effort into what I do as possible; once I commit to something, I plan to do it and do it right. That also ties in the idea of coachability. I've always believed that the player who is absolutely willing to go the extra mile and soak in every word from their coach will always grow to be ahead of those who are just naturally and physically, more gifted, yet refuse to put the same amount of time and effort to work and improve. The ability to stay as coachable, no matter how "experienced" I become, will always be important; no matter how much you know, you can always learn more, and that's a simple fact that applies for anything in life. Lastly, alongside the work I put in onto the soccer field, I also take academics very seriously, as I have a weighted GPA of 4.08 and an unweighted GPA of 4.00. Academically, I tend to thrive most in the department of creativity and visualization, and I am able to pour those skills into all of the work that I do. To summarize and put simply, I am a person who values good sportsmanship, coachability, and has a willingness to work; I take my education and schooling very seriously and some of my best traits tend to be my creativity, ability of visualization, and the capability of connecting with others on an empathetic level.
