Since I was four years old I have been playing soccer. I started in recreational soccer, then later moved to my town travel team. In fourth grade I played club soccer for one year but moved back into travel. After many years playing travel I decided to change back into club soccer because I realized that to go further in soccer it would be better to join a club team. I have also been playing on my high school varsity team since 8th grade. My goal is to continue playing until I have no other choice but o stop. Playing in college is something that I dream of doing and something I know I can accomplish. When playing for my town team for so many years I learned how important teamwork and communication is in soccer. I also learned that I could not only play for myself but for my whole team.
What I've realized about myself since I started playing is that if I really want something I will put in the work and do my best to get it. When I was 12 I competed in a soccer shootout and won 1st place and overall high score for shooting points. Before every competition I would practice my shooting with my dad. Winning that tournament made me understand that if you want something bad enough you'll work for it. The same applies to my academics. I started off not the best with my grades but I am working to make them better. It makes me so excited to think about playing soccer in college and becoming part of a team where I could make a great impact!
