My goal is to play soccer at the collegiate level and I aspire to be a valuable team member.
I have played soccer since I was a little girl and I have loved it since the beginning. I have always enjoyed being a part of a team and learning to work with others to a greater goal. I find it extremely important to make sure that everybody on my team feels this way as well, and I try to work for that with others. On my high school team, I was captain this past season as a Junior. I also was awarded all-conference 1st team. I have been playing varsity minutes since 7th grade, and I know that much of what I have learned and gained was from the older players. My goal is to become that role model to those younger than me, but also be open to learning as much as I can. I would consider myself very coachable and versatile. I had always played outside midfield when I was a younger player, but in the past couple of seasons I played defense, center and outside, and also center midfield, holding and attacking. My coaches trusted me with these new positions and knew that I would be willing to do it for the team. I learned as quickly as I could from coaches and my teammates, and eventually was playing these positions effectively, and even changed my preferred position from outside midfield to defense or center midfield. It was not what I initially wanted, but I was willing and capable and grew to enjoy those positions immensely. Another trait that I have is that I am left-footed, which I would consider an advantage due to the fact that it is more unexpected and allows me to be stronger where most other players are not. In regards to academics, I have always done well. Recently I feel as though I have been more challenged as classes have gotten harder, but I always push through and strive to learn the information I need to succeed in the subject. I especially enjoy history and English.
