Personal Statement
I started playing soccer at the age of 4. Since I was little I've known that I wanted to play for as long as I possibly can. When I hit 14 years old, I started taking it very seriously, going outside to practice until the sun would go down and my mom had to make me come inside. I have a strong right foot and very intricate foot skills. I have made a commitment to work with the ball everyday to improve my first touch. I have a powerful right footed shot and extremely fast sprints. I have been working on my left foot more and I can see a big improvement because I recently scored a left footed volley off of a corner kick in the Lincoln Route 66 tournament. I'm not afraid of the ball and I'm a very competitive player. I form a leadership role for my team. I am always known to support my teammates and create as many opportunities as possible. I have a high respect for the game, officials, teammates, opponents, and coaches. I expect good sportsmanship from myself. I take my coaches seriously and listen to any advice they have for me or the team. Even if it's the toughest criticism, I do take it to heart, and it motivates me to work to be a better player. My favorite women soccer players have to be Carli Lloyd and Alex Morgan. I like how they play the attacking roles like me, and I watch them to learn tactics about the game that I could possibly use.
As an athlete I understand that I am a student first. I take the same work ethic that I use on the field and use it in my school work. I love a challenge so I chose to take all honors courses. I am on the High Honor Roll at my school with a 3.7 GPA. I prefer math and science courses which will help prepare me for a career as a Pediatric Dentist.
