Personal Statement

I'm Evani Velasquez a sophomore from Bloomfield Nm. Class of 2026. Unfortunately, only 3 games into our season last year (2022-2023) I broke my collarbone, and sadly I had to have surgery on it, that being said I was out all of my freshman season. But facing the injury, it never stopped me from still supporting my team, and being by their side through all of their wins and losses.

My biggest dream is to play professionally. I'm hoping to use NCSA to help me get recruited for college so that hopefully, from there, I can make it to the professional level.

I love to help my teammates and keep their thoughts positive because it's not the team with the best players that wins, but the players with the best team that wins. It feels amazing to score goals, but it's even better to see your teammates all smiling knowing that we worked together to put that ball in the back of the net. I'm hoping to help you, and my future teammates to stay strong and fight until we reach victory.

My 8th grade year I ran track for the Middle school before I moved up to run at the high school level. There (running for the high school) I was district Champion in the 100m, 200m, 4x1, Sprint medley, long jump and the 4x4. The following track meet was our state meet in which I took 3rd in the 100m dash and 4x1 and 5th in long jump, and I did it all as an 8th grader! My freshman season i broke several school and stadium records and i was undefeated in my events until state. I was also a junior Olympic champion in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and the long jump, i broke the junior Olympic record for my age group in the 200m dash.

The most important thing I tell myself is " There is always room for improvement."

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
