I  learned to play the beautiful game from a Colombian coach who emphasized the joy and beauty of the sport. Since then, I love everything about football - the smell of the grass, the ability to dance on a ball, and the camaraderie of teammates at a 7 AM game or an 8 PM practice. As I have gotten older, I have even learned to embrace the grind of hard practices in 30-degree weather. 

Much of my training, even early on, was against older and bigger boys (and girls). I learned the hard way (over and over) that this game is not for the timid. Those lessons taught me to bring that physical intensity with me every time I step on the pitch. 

Who am I and what will you get? You will get a player who brings a high level of joy and contagious energy onto the field; a player whose engine and intensity turn up with each tackle. My nickname (and email address) is relentlessava for a reason– I refuse to be kept down, I refuse to fall short. Thus, you will get a player who will consistently push herself and her teammates on the training ground and in the classroom. 

I am looking forward to my college journey and I will choose a university that will academically challenge me and a program that will welcome my joy for the game. I plan to make a positive impact on my college community and on my team. I hope that this is the type of player you are looking for.
