I have played soccer since I was 3years old. Initially I was a field player with all the kids huddled in a group, but my coaches noticed I was the one coming out of that group with the ball. A few years later I volunteered to play keeper because they needed someone and over the next few seasons went back to playing forward or striker. However on my first club team in 3rd grade I was persistent in letting the coach know I could play keeper. He put me in at keeper during a tournament game, having never seen me in the position before. He was hesitant to take me off the field but he needed a keeper. I never left the position again. After that game the opposing coach asked my coach about me, and referred to me as "the wall". Parents, referees, competitors, parents of competitors and opposing team coaches all began noticing and giving me positive feedback. I was hooked on the position, loved controlling the box and the excitement of running out to challenge those who slipped past my the defense on 1 on 1 situation. I LOVE the position of keeper and it fits my personality perfectly.
I am confident and aggressive in the box. I have lightening fast reflexes and am a warrior set for battle when I play. I have great distribution of the ball and I'm a good decision maker.
I'm also a loud, effective and decisive communicator to my team on the field, I have vision for the game that helps my teammates during the course of a game. . I give positive feedback and help keep energy up during games as well as giving direction and motivating my teammates to perform at their highest level.
I am a rising freshman at Cary Christian School. I've been there since Kindergarten. I am so thankful for the importance my parents placed on getting a high quality, solid education with christian values early on. I will be enrolled in all honors courses with a very rigorous curriculum. I look forward to pushing myself to achieve not only in the sports I love but also in the classroom.
I have other interests outside of soccer, including basketball. I was the captain of the basketball team this past year. I was appointed to our school's social executive committee that plans dances, festivals. welcomes new families, does homecoming and intramural competitions between the grades, powder puff etc. I've also been chosen as house representative, served as captain of the MS soccer team, MVP for our championship conference soccer game 2019. I was pulled up to varsity for state playoffs my 7th grade year and pulled up to play on varsity for the season my 8th grade year. I help teach Sunday school for the Pre-K class, I have helped families move, helped roof houses, served as a coach at our churches mega sports camp each summer. I've also helped autistic children learn the gane of soccer by being a personal buddy through volunteering with Oak City Soccer. I enjoy volunteering at With Love From Jesus a food pantry.
