Personal Statement

For as long as I can remember, playing soccer has been my whole world. It first started as something that I enjoyed doing outside of school. Now soccer is a part of who I am. It is something that I want to do.  A dream that I challenge myself to make come true. I can gain a lot of technical training and agility work from my training, but soccer for me is not just that. Soccer for me is a place to be myself, a person who can be funny yet determined. A player who may be shy but loud on the field, a leader not only on the field but also in my community. Soccer has taught me how to be comfortable in stressful situations, and how to pull not only myself but my teammates up when we are down. My core values are hard work, trust, and accountability. As an athlete and a student, I strive to stick to these core values. I am accountable for my actions on and off the field. I believe that as a leader gaining the trust of those around me only makes a team work harder. Having the trust of the person next to you creates a bond that makes a team stronger. I have always known that the term "student-athlete" means student first then an athlete, so I always work to make sure that I maintain the standards that I set for myself in the classroom and work to meet those standards. For me, hard work means asking for help and getting extra practice until you understand a situation, drill, or classroom problem. I think that as a collegiate athlete, I can be a trusted teammate who will work her hardest on and off the field, I can be a shoulder to lean on when a teammate needs me, and a coachable player who is always wanting to learn from those around her.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
