Hi! My name is Emma Edwards and I’m a very reactive, shot stopping, vocal, and uplifting goalkeeper. I have played soccer since I was 8 and have never looked back. Being a goalkeeper was never my first thought, but now standing here after 9 years later, I’m forever grateful. As a goalkeeper, I have realized that it is a game of failure. One small move and the ball goes in. However, pressure is something I achieve well under. The feeling of adrenaline overcomes all my worries and I genuinely get to be the Emma I really am. I’m strong on the ball, quick on my decision making, wise on my field vision, and my distribution skills will rock your world. My ability to communicate and command the box is very constructive. I love to stay calm so my back line always can be at ease and trust the person behind them. Working as not only a team, but as a family, is one of my biggest outlooks to soccer itself. Not only do I bring athletic talent to the table, my academics do as well. I have been in all dual credit classes since my sophomore year of high school. I like to be a little ahead of the curb. I’m very involved with my school and it’s community. As well as volunteering. Balancing school, soccer, family, god, and friends requires high levels of discipline and time management. Just like my future job of being a Physician Assistant! My dream is to master in Health Sciences/Kinesiology then apply to PA school to become a Orthopedic PA. I’m highly independent and always love a good challenge. I look forward to being tested athletically and academically. There’s nothing I can’t handle. This is for my family, god, past coaches and teammates, friends, and most importantly myself. Thank you.
