I started my soccer journey in Hawaii at the age of six. I could have stayed on the island of Oahu my entire life, but as the daughter of two military service members, we had to move to a new assignment in Virginia Beach, VA. Well, you figured it out; they also have a beach and the game of soccer.
I play soccer because it is a lot of fun. It's like solving a complex puzzle. As I get closer to finishing High School, I realize I don't want to stop playing and desire to play at the collegiate level.
I am a great dribbler, have a quick change of direction, and can play multiple positions on the pitch. Due to my 1v1 skills and ability to win 50/50 balls, many coaches play me at LB/RB because I can play solid defense and be an attacking threat. Over the last two seasons, I have played Winger, which is also a lot of fun. My coach has also been playing me a midfield to get experience there.
I am on the shorter side at 5'1", but I don't give up an inch on the pitch. I like to think I pattern my game after Crystal Dunn, who has been a hero of mine. I am also a huge fan of Messi. I am constantly refining my technical ability to gain an advantage on the pitch.
In the classroom, I work hard and currently hold a 4.37 weighted GPA. I am active in my school and community. I attend a private college preparatory school, so I understand how to balance a challenging course load while finding time to refine my game. I think this will serve me well in the college game.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best Regards, Saniya
