Personal Statement
In my family, hard work is said to be the way to get something you want. This idea is something I have pulled into both my life as a soccer player and as a student. As a soccer player, I work hard at team practices as well as on my own time to grow my skills. I want to be someone my teammates see as a leader on the field and someone they know can be counted on in challenging situations. I love the challenge that comes with being a defender. There’s always extra pressure on us to keep the ball away from the net and make my keeper's life easier. The pressure, although stressful to some, is something I thrive under. In games, I’m ready to put down a hard tackle and be aggressive in the air to help my team. As a defender, I work hard to analyze the strengths of my opponents’ and adjust my game in order to slow them down. I bring the same work ethic into my schooling where I work to keep my GPA up even in AP and honors classes.
