At the age of 4 and the smallest person on the team, my first soccer coach was impressed with my competitiveness. I learned to play soccer before I even knew how to ride a bike. It started out as a fun way to spend time with my dad in the backyard, and has become one of my greatest passions in life. Playing at a higher level not only enables me to push past challenges, but has helped shape me as a person. I’ve had the pleasure of working with many other talented players, making me the top competitor I am today. I am always pushing myself to new limits and am constantly setting goals.
Overall I am a very coach-able player and take constructive criticism well. I practice with high intensity and can easily learn new positions on any team in order to achieve success. I am a leader who is determined, dependable, and hardworking. This can not only be shown throughout my soccer career but through my academics, as I currently hold a 4.0 GPA.
Once on the field, I am always thinking one step ahead and anticipating the ball. My current coach says that I’m a high IQ player with intensity, even at practice. As a midfielder my passes are accurate and timely. I am always trying my hardest to get the ball back when we lose possession and know that “first to the ball” can be the difference between winning and loosing.
My goal has always been to play soccer at the college level. It is important for me to find a college that suits both my academic and athletic needs. I am excited for this next chapter in my life and to continue to make opportunities for myself.
