Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is Natalie Warren and I have been involved in athletics since I was 5 years old. I started with swimming and stayed with that for 6 years. My favorite stroke was the Breaststroke and had some success at it. At state, as a 10 year old, I ended up with a 2nd in the 50 yard and a 3rd in the 100 yard Breaststroke at State. I also started playing soccer about the same time. I played for the United soccer club in Green Bay, Rush WI West in La Crosse, 4 years have played with the Rush Madison Club team and this last season for the Mississippi Valley Storm U19 tournament team. I have played forward early on, then have mostly played mid fielder as I feel my strength is, having a feel / vision for the game. As my team had some injuries, I have played about 15 games as a Defensive Center Back and had really made an impact. I have had much success with free/corner kicks as my leg is an asset. This year, the coach has been switching me from taking the corner kicks to being on the inside the box and had about 8 headers for goals.
My high school freshman season was a good one, individually. I did start as a freshman for all games at Defensive Center Back. Team wise, we did take 2nd in conference and one game away from going to state. I also was extremely happy on the honor of being voted 1st team all conference, the only freshman in the MVC to receive that honor.
The summer of 2018, our club team with the U19 MVS team was a great experience, as for myself myself and one other freshman played with the older girls. We played in three tournaments that were very competitive. Our record, although not great at 3-8-4, the goals for vs. against tells a story. 28 goals for and gave up 18. Again, mostly played Defensive Center Back.
My sophomore season has started on 4-2-19 and coach had moved me to center midfielder. Our first game, ended in a 10-0 win and I ended up with 4 goals. It was one of my better games in my career so far. The season did not end up the way we wanted and took 3rd place in our conference. We ended up winning our first 2 playoff games and ended up losing to the state runner up. On a personal note, I was humbled by earning my second 1st team All- conference award.
