My 10-year career as a competitive swimmer has dramatically influenced my educational goals and aspirations. I’ve found that happy swimmers are fast swimmers, and I perform my best when my mental health is the top priority. This only occurs through the continuous support of my coaches and teammates, as well as external aid as needed. Due to this, I would potentially like to continue my academic career through the study of psychology. This is so that eventually I could aid other athletes in becoming the best, and happiest versions of themselves. Not only for the sake of sport and performance but to help others increase their overall quality of life.

I also hope to find a team that offers an inclusive, positive environment where I can improve my swimming and support my teammates’ goals. A positive team environment is essential to me. Over the years I have found that the more we can be there for each other, the more we can excel as a group. I’m committed to continuing on with this mentality at whichever university I may have the opportunity to represent in the future.
