For almost eight years, swimming has taught me the influential power of passion, and how it can drive dedication beyond what is asked of me. Even when I first began swimming, I discovered my passion lay in the water, and that I would continue my athletic journey with a club team at an elite level.
I swam for Greenwich YWCA Dolphins for almost 7 years where I practiced at the highest level and competed in championship meets including the CT Senior SCY Championship in my best events. My passion drove me to crave even more improvement than I saw at Dolphins, and, thus, I decided to experiment with change at the Stamford Sailfish Aquatic Club in 2021. I continue to swim at the club at the present time.
My intense devotion to swimming also led me to join the Sacred Heart Greenwich swim team where I compete at the Varsity level along with water polo at the Varsity level. Currently, I hold three records for Sacred Heart: two team records for the 400 and 200 freestyle relays and one 100 freestyle record at The Master's School (NY).
To continue, I am most proficient in my freestyle stroke and was a top 16 performer in Connecticut for certain long-distance events. I now continue to excel in both mid-distance and sprint events such as the 200 and 100 freestyle where I hold a 1:59:9 and 55:6 respectively.
Beyond the pool, I am known for my high achievements in my academics at Sacred Heart. As can be seen by my cumulative GPA and report card, I strive for excellence in my understanding of all topics and am an extremely curious student. I am especially interested in curriculums that involve science, engineering, business, and mathematics which I hope to pursue in the future.
In the collegiate setting, I hope to immerse myself in an academically curious and strongly competitive environment that will push the discovery of my identity and community. As a member of the Hispanic community in the United States, I hope to introduce more of my Argentine culture to my new college and expand my understanding of my distant community as well. And finally, I hope to continue my swimming career at a competitive level where my peers will push my confidence and coaches will help me flourish as a competitor.
