2016 HighlightsPersonal Statement
My name is Ellie Boyle, and I am a senior at St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago. I have have enjoyed the competitive- and adrenaline-filled atmosphere of swimming since I started in 2008. I specialize in a myriad of events: 400 IM, 200 breaststroke, and distance events. My abilities to do well in these events, I believe, would make me an asset to any team. I'm highly competitive, but I love the camaraderie that comes with being on a team. I challenge myself daily to do things out of my comfort zone, whether it be in school or in the pool, and I try to inspire my teammates to do the same.
Although swimming has always been a part of my life, and I hope it always will be, my ultimate goal is to help people. My dream is to be an emergency room doctor or surgeon. Academics have always come first, and swimming has helped me to become the focused and driven student that I am today. If I could continue to swim competitively in college while pursuing my dream, nothing would please me more.
