Personal Statement
I have always been drawn to the water, and after one of my first seasons I was infatuated with the sport. However, up until last summer I hadn't fully committed. After getting my first taste of success, there was no going back. I make top sixteen at state and was elated. I worked to push myself at every practice, because I knew that no pain could outweigh the feeling of success. And it worked. The following season, I achieved first in my age group at state! I truly believe that no amount of natural talent can outweigh hard work, amazing coaches, and inspirational teammates. I know that I will always be able to lean on my fellow swimmers for support, because there is no other group of people I would rather spend countless hours with. I strive to be the best cheerleader possible, because at the end of the day, the relationships I have built will outlast any time I get. I am looking for a program that will push me to be the best athlete I can be. I know that I have what it takes to be an asset to a team, in and out of the pool. I look forward to the new challenges that college swimming will bring.
