Personal Statement
From the moment I could walk I loved to swim and be in the water. As soon as I left my family at my Tae Kwon Do school for the pool, I was in love. Even though I haven’t been swimming for a while, I love being in the pool. I feel that the pool is a second home to me. The water is an escape from the stresses of home and school. I love being critiqued because that one comment gets me one step closer to becoming a better swimmer. I am as hard working in the pool as I am at school. I love being challenged to do better and given hard work to make my brain think. Another great experience was being on the Shenendehowa varsity swim team. I learned how to be a team player with a competitive edge, but at the same time a sister to my team mates. I love the rush before I dive into the water and as soon as I am up on that block it is “Go time!” Swimming is my life and I wouldn’t trade anything to not be a part of it and living a life of a swimmer.
